LONG COURSE IVF PROTOCOL:
Day 20 or day 21 of your cycle - 7:30 – 8:30 am 1) Scan
2) You commence Lucrin
3) First payment a deposit of R30.000.00
Do not come in over a weekend or public holiday, but come in on the weekday before or after your day 21.

Await your menses

If no period 10 days after starting Lucrin, come in for a scan at 7:30am.
¯
Your Gonal F and/or Luveris (hormone) injections will commence on the weekend following the onset of menstruation. The hormone injections promote growth of the follicles in your ovaries. The follicles contain the microscopic egg. Initially you have 5 days of hormone injections. E.g.
Sunday
Monday hormone injections
Tuesday +
Wednesday Lucrin continues
Thursday

6th day after starting hormone injections. 7:30 - 8:30 am
Scan to assess follicle growth.
Scan further hormone injections
Scan might need to be administered
(Please note that further hormone injections at this stage will increase your costs).

Egg aspiration: Two days following last scan.
Sperm sample is required remember no more or no less than 3 - 4 days abstinence prior to giving sample.
A reconciliation of your account with any additional costs payable
N.B: ICSI is an additional cost (get quote from account department)

Embryo transfer 5 days later.
¯
Progesterone injections or suppositories for two weeks (Starting on day of aspiration).
¯
Pregnancy test 11 days after embryo transfer, if positive continue Progesterone Injections or Cyclogest suppositories.
